Matteo is a photographer based in Geneva, Switzerland. He studied photography at HEAD Genève, where he developed a documentary approach to image-making. His work gradually moved towards portraits and fashion, while retaining a strong connection to documentary photography. He has since worked across several European cities, developing a practice that moves between commissioned work and personal projects.His approach to photography is often shaped over time, allowing images to accumulate and take on new meaning before developing them into personal projects. His interest in photography extends beyond the image itself, through darkroom printing, photobooks and self-publishing. He prints his own work, placing particular importance on the process of making images tangible and giving them a life beyond the screen.
